Rolf started his professional career with UBS in various areas of credit in 1999. Since then, he has gained considerable experience in the areas of credit risk and credit research in various functions within UBS Investment Bank, UBS Wealth Management and UBS Business Banking in Zurich and London
Rolf joined UBS CIO WM Research in Zurich in January 2005 and covered both equity and credit on European consumer discretionary names. His main focus was the automotive, the media, the retail and the luxury industry. Furthermore, he assumed temporarily the responsibility for the US pharmaceutical and biotech sectors as well as the broad US stock market. Throughout these years, the automotive industry has always been one of his main focus areas.
Today, Rolf heads the Zurich-based European Equity Sector team and covers the (European) automotive sector, meeting more than 50 companies across all MSCI sectors annually. Rolf is also involved in thematic research ideas, such as “Smart Mobility”, “EM(U) winners”, “Eurozone winners from global consumption growth”, and various other “Longer Term Investment” themes.
Rolf has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from a University for Applied Sciences in Germany. He was a Fulbright Scholar and gained a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Denver in the US. In addition, Rolf is a CFA charterholder
